Taking the time to daydream…

Anytime I get too stressed, I put on some music and take a few moments just to let it sink in.  Today I wanted to share this one song before getting back to the tons of work piled up on my desk.  The first version is in front of a crowd but it is closest to the original.  I wanted to share the second version however, which is solo without Jehro, but which was filmed in a bookstore.  A little more and I could imagine there’s a live band in the library for a small break :p    And just in case this inspires you to reach out for your guitar or piano, here are the chords.  A little creativity never hurt anyone.

C A7
What a day for a daydream
	Dm7 G7
	   [1: What a day 4: Custom-made] for a daydreamin' boy
	 C A7 [acoustic guitar enters 1st time]
And I'm lost in a daydream
	Dm7 G7
Dreamin' bout my bundle of joy

Chorus 1:

	F D7/F# C A7
And even if time ain't really on my side
	F D7/F# C A7
It's one of those days for takin' a walk outside
	F D7/F# C A7
I'm blowin' the day to take a walk in the sun
	F G G7
And fall on my face on somebody's new-mowed lawn

Verse 2:
       C A7
I been havin' a sweet dream
       Dm7 G7
I been dreamin' since I woke up today
       C A7
It's starring me and my sweet dream
       Dm7 G7
'Cause she's the one that makes me feel this way

Chorus 2:
       F D7/F# C A7
And even if time is passin' me by a lot
       F D7/F# C A7
I couldn't care less about the dues you say I've got
       F D7/F# C A7
Tomorrow I'll pay the dues for dropping my load
       F G G7
A pie in the face for bein' a sleepy bull toad

[whistling over verse chords]

Chorus 3:
       F D7/F# C A7
And you can be sure that if you're feelin' right
       F D7/F# C A7
A daydream will last 'til long into the night
       F D7/F# C A7
Tomorrow at breakfast you may prick up your ears
       F G G7
Or you may be daydreamin' for a thousand years
